Product Description

The APR 370mm 6-Piston Big Brake Kit is a comprehensive front brake upgrade engineered specifically around compatible MQB EVO vehicles originally equipped with 355mm front brakes. Rather than adapting an oversized factory brake system from another vehicle, APR designed the complete system around the intended application to maintain proper brake balance and integration with the factory ABS and stability-control systems.

At the center of the system are APR's next-generation 6-piston calipers. The calipers are machined from high-grade aerospace aluminum billet and use a rigid 2-piece construction with six stainless steel pistons. APR uses generative design and engineering analysis to place material where it contributes to strength and rigidity while minimizing unnecessary mass.

The calipers are paired with large 370x34mm 2-piece semi-floating rotors. Each rotor uses a high-carbon iron friction ring with 72 curved directional cooling vanes to increase airflow and manage heat during repeated braking. A slotted rotor surface provides strong initial bite and helps distribute heat while maintaining street-friendly noise, vibration, and harshness characteristics.

The semi-floating rotor design allows the friction ring to expand and contract as temperatures change, helping reduce stress on the rotor and aluminum hat during demanding use. APR also incorporates a Maximum Temperature Recording system into the brakes, giving performance and track drivers useful information when selecting appropriate brake pads and fluid.

The kit arrives with high-performance street pads already installed in the calipers. The pads use a standard replacement size, providing additional options for drivers who want to change compounds for more demanding track use. Braided stainless steel brake lines, billet mounting brackets, and the necessary installation hardware are also included.

Choose Red anodized calipers for a bold performance appearance or Dark Grey anodized calipers for a more understated look with additional durability suited to frequent track use.

Best For: MK8 Golf R and Audi 8Y S3 owners looking for a complete high-performance front brake upgrade that delivers improved stopping capability, heat management, pedal feel, and consistency for aggressive street driving and track use.

Why Choose the APR 370mm Big Brake Kit?

The APR 370mm Big Brake Kit is engineered as a complete braking system rather than simply combining larger components. Vehicle-specific engineering helps maintain proper brake balance and compatibility with factory ABS and stability-control systems, while 6-piston billet calipers, 2-piece 370x34mm rotors, stainless steel brake lines, and performance pads provide the hardware needed for substantially more demanding driving conditions.
